More 10mm WW2 Germans

These 10mm miniatures sure paint up fast!  I have another platoon done, with a MG42 for support, as well as two PAK 40 anti-tank guns.

All are from Pendraken, and I just placed another order for more - they really do paint up fast!

10mm World War Two Germans!

So it was fine for something a little different.  I've been wanting to do WW2 minis, but had a hard time deciding on the scale.  I have already done 28mm Fallschirmjager and Russians, but wanted something on a "bigger scale".  6mm was a bit too small - 10mm was perfect!

And of course the photographs show me every little mistake that I made.  *sigh*

I'm really enjoying this scale, and already have another German platoon and two Pak 40 anti-tank guns almost done.

The miniatures are all from Pendraken, and most of the poses are great.  I did them assembly-line, glued on wooden sticksThe bases are 25mm x 25mm ones from Minibits.  Fantastic bases!  I did the bases like an up-scaled version of the ones I did for the modern micro-armour.

Final Batch of Spaceships for a While

Okay, I think I've done enough spaceships for a while.  ;-)

The big fella is a Harmony-Class Superdreadnaught, and the fighters/bombers are the same as the ones I posted previously.

This ship took me a long time to paint, and I put it aside at times when I was painting other ships.  Finally it is done!

RIP Rocky Sr

I just heard that my dog-in-law, Rocky Sr has passed away.  He was 17 years old.

Here he is (top), with Rocky Jr (bottom).

Lots more Spaceships!

I painted these spaceships from Zandris IV in two batches:

The Embassy Class Assault Carrier in the top picture (right) took me a while to finish, and the Diplomat Class Heavy Cruiser next to it took a bit longer too.  The rest of the ships are ones I have painted before, but I still had to use the old ones as a colour reference.

I also finally chose some fighters and bombers for my fleet:

They are all from Studio Bergstrom, from their "Star Warp Gate Universe" - I'm guessing that these are based on the Stargate series, but I've never watched it and I thought they looked cool.  I'll be using the ones on the left as multi-role fighters, the ones next to them are fighters/interceptors, and the other two on the right are bombers.  The stands are: top part is from Ground Zero Games, and the base is from Litko.

These were fun to paint, and I'm finishing up the biggest ship of them all right now.  :-)

Sorry for the Lack of Updates!

Sorry for the lack of updates!  I've been busy with running the kickstarter, which was funded yesterday!  Woo!  I'm very excited.  :-)

I've decided to use Backerkit for the survey as it is way better than the clunky kickstarter one.  So I managed to get most of it done today.

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/191582083/harwood-hobbies-next-wave-of-wargaming-miniatures

I have managed to paint a little, all of them more Zandris IV spaceships.  I'll try to get pictures up in the next couple of days.

Also, we had our little puppy neutered and his chip implanted a few days ago, so I've been taking care of him a little more than usual.

15mm Assyrian Archers!

Okay, time for something a little different!  15mm Assyrians!

These are from Old Glory, and they have a few poses in the pack.  I have based them for Impetus.

You think, since it's a smaller scale they'll be quicker to paint right?  WRONG!  It took me quite a while to get these guys done.  The quality is decent from Old Glory, and I also have some Essex Assyrians to do as well.

Painted while listening to:  Twilight Zone Radio Dramas Vol 1

I thought I'd give the Twilight Zone a shot.  It wasn't bad.  Some really good stories, some okay and some meh.

More Zandris IV Spaceships!

I enjoyed finishing painting up those last few Zandris IV spaceships that I had a go at some more:

From left to right we have:  Negotiator-Class Heavy Destroyer, Thug-Class Missile Frigate, Edict-Class Beam Cruiser, and a Mercenary-Class Assault Frigate.  On the two smaller ships, they are based on 20mm round bases from Minibits.  I really like the bases from Minibits, they are great to use and are super cheap!

And these are plasma blasts from Ninja Magic.  Their little bases are from Litko.

Harwood Hobbies Kickstarter Launched!

I have just launched the Harwood Hobbies kickstarter.  I am looking to raise enough to get these miniatures cast up.  They have all been sculpted so there is basically no risk to my backers.  Most are 28mm (some of the monsters are bigger) and are priced at a discount for the kickstarter.

Your help to get these miniatures to the public will be much appreciated!

Jarrem Lee - Ghost Hunter

I came across this series of radio dramas on audible a little while ago - Jarrem Lee, Ghost Hunter.  I LOVED IT!!!!  It's right up my alley, and follows along in the footsteps of Carnacki, John Silence and other occult detectives in the Victorian era.

Keep in mind they are radio dramas and not audiobooks - they have the full sound effects added to them.  I am a fan of relic radio and the old radio dramas of the 1940's - 60's so this really fit the bill.

I loved the voice actor who played Jarrem Lee, but his chemist sidekick was abysmal!  He did get a little bit better over the six volumes, but not much.  Jarrem is basically Sherlock Holmes, but likes to draw pentagrams and fight off supernatural forces.

If you are a fan of the old occult detectives or like radio dramas, check these ones out!

Zandris IV Spaceships!

And now for something completely different...spaceships!  I started these about a year ago and finally got around to finishing them.  I think I got burnt out on the yellow.

Once I got going I really enjoyed painting these and like how they turned out.

They are an Emissary-Class Assault Cruiser and three Contractor-Class Missile Destroyers from Zandris IV.   They took longer than I thought to paint, but I do have a bunch of new ones on the painting table - so that says how much I liked painting them and how they came out!

Not So Great Gothic Painting

I am not too proud of how these ones came out.  I got a bit sidetracked going other things and rushed to finish them.

The detective and The Ripper are from West Wind's Empire of the Dead.  The big fella is a miniature from Malifaux.

Kickstarter Preview #5

I thought you all could use some better painting this time!  So here's some "changed" humans:

Kickstarter Preview #4

Sometimes I am really bad at painting.  Sadly, here is an example with this woman.  Like some of my previous miniatures, there are three versions of her - normal, armed and zombified.

The normal version was supposed to have her holding a smoke in her hand, but I think the cigarette was destroyed in the casting process.  :-(

Kickstarter Preview #3

Okay, I have a bit of a weird one for you this time.  :-)

The sculptor gave this one to me for free, and called it the snot monster.

I did the base the same as the scientists - maybe they will track him down eventually...

Next Batch of SOTR Germans

I got a bunch of Germans done a few days ago for Secrets of the Third Reich.

A few more troopers with Panzerfausts.

These are the Wolfrunners, to go along with the Wolfrunner Sergeant in my last SOTR post.  They came with these silly puny heads, so I replaced them with some decently-sized ones.

A sniper.  I forgot to do the rain pattern on it afterwards, but I think it still looks good.

A werewolf!  One of the few werewolf sculpts on the market that I like!

Painted while listening to:  Ripper by David L. Golemon

The only part of the book I enjoyed was the two and a half hour "prologue", which started out in Victorian London and later in 1916 Mexico.  The rest of the book was meh.

Modern Microarmour Game

On September 5 2014, I had a modern microarmour game using the Fields of Fire rules, and later the "A Fate of a Nation" set from Flames of War.  Fields of Fire was not too bad, but Flames of War was horrible.  We're still looking for a decent ruleset...

The desert-style terrain was Grant's, and I brought some terrain that I recently purchased from Gunbird/Wayswatcher on LAF.  I have a ton of Leven buildings to paint too, just need some decent bases.

Kickstarter Preview #2

Here's a few miniatures painted by Simon (aka. Stone Cold Lead).  Waaaayy better than my sad attempts.  ;-)

The one in the middle is the Black Widow, a crime boss in Morabia.  She is surrounded by various thugs and an assassin.
