I finished painting up a few of the miniatures from my next kickstarter, CULTISTS!
Sadly painted by myself, I will be getting someone more talented to paint up some for the "studio paintjobs".
I have mailed off a sculpt of a cultist leader to my caster and will be making a master mould once Iain sculpts me a few more cultists (which he is doing now).

Void Hounds and Wolves
I've been busy the last little while packing up the remaining pledges from the kickstarter I ran in November. It's all done! They're all shipped and only a few people who have yet to provide me with an address.
Here's a few miniatures I managed to paint in the last few days:
These little critters are originally from Malifaux, but I plan to use them as "Void Hounds" when I playtest my gothic horror rules. I like how the blue came out - I was trying to make it not too garish.
I was lucky enough to pick up some miniatures on Bartertown from the Red Box kickstarter. I was looking for more of the wolves, and this guy had six! I still have to do the Fenris, but not quite sure if I need two...
Painted while listening to: The Asylum by John Harwood (no relation)
This book really captures the Victorian feel, but suffers from a super long drawn out story. It might have been better as a short story or novella. The ending was good though!

Terrain Commission!
I came across a person (sundayhero) on the Lead Adventure Forum who was taking commissions for terrain. His posted examples looked incredible, so I took the plunge and had him make up a few things for me:
Dimitri was very communicative and made sure I received just what I wanted. His pricing is extremely reasonable for the quality of the terrain - highly recommended!

10mm WW2 Eastern Front Battle
I was lucky to finally have enough terrain and miniatures to play a game of Battlegroup Kursk with my 10mm miniatures.
Grant and I had a great time trying out the rules - definitely one of the best sets we've played so far!
The two above pics are the initial terrain setup on the table. The buildings are all from Escenografia Epsilon (which I picked up at Pendraken). See my previous posts for reviews on them. The church is an N scale railroad model I picked up on eBay. It has the cool Russian spire. I was lucky to find it! I still have to re-paint it and make a nice base for it. I plan to magnetize the Epsilon buildings on bases as well. You can see the Hotz felt fields, rubber roads and haystacks I mentioned in my previous post.
Lots of Russians!!! :-) I pushed hard with the tanks to catch Grant off guard, and succeeded. I had cleared most of the right side of the table before we called it a game.
Probably one of my favourite buys - farm animals!!!! I bought these on eBay and stuck them on some flocked bases. They really add a little something extra to the game.
Grant's infantry didn't really see much action. They crept along the left side of the table taking mortar fire. If we hadn't called it a game when we did the infantry would have been stuck in with mine.
It was just a trial game for both of us, and we really enjoyed the rules. We played parts incorrectly and it will be good next time to see how it goes.
Pooch pic!

Haystacks, Roads, and Fields for 10mm WW2
I picked up a few various bits of terrain for my 10mm WW2 gaming.
First up are some haystacks I bought from a seller on eBay:
They size up decently next to a Stug III G. I think they were made for FOW, but works for me in 10mm.
I took a risk and ordered some of the Hotz felt fields. They arrived in normal shipping time and are AWESOME! I really like them and they add a lot to the battlefield. I'll be posting pics of a recent game soon so you can see them in action.
Lastly I purchased some latex rubber roads from Monday Knight Productions. I got a mix of various road types and painted and flocked them. Took a while to do since I got a bunch of them, but well worth it!
It was a bit pricey for the whack that I got, but well worth it as they will last. They are extremely good for gaming and because of their flexibility can bend to rises or falls in terrain. One thing I noticed is that the "dip" did not dry fully and was still tacky after two days of drying. Weird! I slapped on some PVA and that did the trick.

10mm Russians with new Basing
I wanted to have more of a bleak look to my Russians, so on the next batch I changed up what I did to the basing:
I used German Ochre Camo from Vallejo as the base colour, then washed it in Army Painter Strong, then highlighted it with Vallejo Buff and highlighted some with Vallejo Light Grey. I used lighter flocking and used a brown tuft to add something to make it pop. I like how they turned out and will be using this colour scheme from now on.
You can see a few Nebelwerfers and a Flak 88 in the background of the second pic (both from Pendraken). The infantry in these pictures were from Pithead, my first try with them and I like them!
I've been reading Battlegroup Kursk and it seems the Russians are in 8 man squads, so I changed up the basing to match that. Worst case is I just put a few of my older bases together (like I will be doing with the Germans). I've also started basing some N scale hedges from Faller.
